Helse Nord IKT is the IT department for Norway’s Northern Health Authority, managing 12,500 computers over 11 hospitals and several satellite locations.

All of their computers were running Windows XP and the challenge was to migrate these to Windows 7. Due to hospitals being vital 24/7 they cannot stop production and needed an automatic solution to complete the project within their given timescales.
